Thailand Bomb Kills One, Injures 58 
A bomb exploded outside a shop in Thailand's largely Muslim south on Sunday, January 16, 2005, killing one person and wounding 58, including six children. It was the first fatal bombing in the new year in Muslim-dominated southern regions of the mainly Buddhist country after more than 500 persons were killed, most of them Muslims last year.
